Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody specifically recognizes Human ACY1/Aminoacylase-1.
Target Information
ACY1 (Aminoacylase-1) encodes a cytosolic, homodimeric, zinc-binding enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of acylated L-amino acids to L-amino acids and acyl groups. It functions in the catabolism and salvage of acylated amino acids.
Located on chromosome 3p21.1, ACY1 expression is often reduced or undetectable in small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) cell lines and tumors. Mutations in this gene cause aminoacylase-1 deficiency, a metabolic disorder characterized by CNS defects and increased urinary excretion of N-acetylated amino acids.
The human aminoacylase-1 sequence is highly homologous to the porcine enzyme and represents the first member of a new family of zinc-binding enzymes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, and a related pseudogene exists on chromosome 18.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
