Hepatocyte nuclear factor 4 alpha (HNF4α)는 고립된 핵 수용체로, 간, 신장, 장, 췌장에서 발현됩니다. 인간에서 HNF4α의 돌연변이는 성인 발병 당뇨병(MODY1)과 관련이 있습니다. HNF4는 DNA에 동종이합체로 결합하며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 HNF4α1부터 HNF4α9까지 최대 9개의 아이소폼을 생성할 수 있습니다.
