Product Specific Information
Rat anti-Mouse TIM-2 antibody, clone RMT2-25, recognizes mouse Tim-2 (T-cell immunoglobulin mucin 2), a transmembrane glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed by activated lymphocytes, developmentally in the 8-cell embryo and blastocyst, and is preferentially up-regulated in Th2 cells while down-regulated in Th1 cells.
Target Information
TIM-2 (T-cell immunoglobulin mucin 2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in activated lymphocytes and during early embryonic development. TIM-2 functions as a negative regulator of Th2 cells and plays a critical role in atopic disease and Th2-biased immune responses. It also acts as a receptor for Semaphorin 4A, which is expressed on dendritic cells and B cells, contributing to axonal guidance and T cell activation enhancement.
