Target Information
Taste perception involves G protein-coupled receptors including T1R (sweet and umami) and T2R (bitter). These receptors initiate signal transduction cascades via G proteins.
T2R49 plays a role in sensing gastrointestinal chemical composition and is expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue, specifically in gustducin-positive cells.
