Target Information
PDE2A (phosphodiesterase 2A) is a 100 kDa cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE). Three isoforms—PDE2A1, PDE2A2, and PDE2A3—arise from a single gene via alternative splicing. PDE2A degrades both cAMP and cGMP, with greater efficacy for cGMP. It is expressed in multiple tissues, predominantly in the brain (cerebellum and neocortex). PDE2A is implicated in penile erectile dysfunction and regulation of fluid and inflammatory cell transport across endothelial barriers.
