Target Information
CHEK2 (CHK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in the DNA damage checkpoint pathway. Mutations in CHK2 are associated with various cancers. CHK2 phosphorylates cell cycle modulators including tumor suppressor proteins and BRCA1, aiding survival after DNA damage. It is considered a putative tumor suppressor, with mutations linked to Li-Fraumeni syndrome and predisposition to sarcomas, breast cancer, and brain tumors.
