Target Information
Serine/threonine-protein kinase component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a key regulator of mitosis.
The CPC ensures correct chromosome alignment and segregation, required for chromatin-induced microtubule stabilization and spindle assembly.
Aurora kinases are essential for cytokinesis, spindle assembly, and checkpoint control.
AURKB phosphorylates multiple substrates including BIRC5, CDCA8, INCENP, and histone H3, regulating mitotic progression and chromatin dynamics.
Also involved in kinetochore localization of BUB1 and SGOL1 and negative regulation of p53 transcriptional activity.
