Target Information
Post Synaptic Density 95 kDa (PSD-95), also known as synapse-associated protein 90 kDa (SAP90), is a membrane-associated protein found in the postsynaptic density of forebrain neurons and certain presynaptic structures in the cerebellum.
PSD-95 contains three PDZ domains, followed by an SH3 domain and a guanylate kinase homology (GuK) domain.
It participates in clustering of NMDA receptors and Shaker-type potassium channels at synaptic membranes in CNS neurons.
PSD-95 interacts with proteins sharing a threonine/serine-X-valine-COOH (T/SXV) motif and also binds neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) via PDZ-PDZ interactions.
