Description:
The MP6-XT3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), a 17 kDa cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells, and CD4⁺ T cells. TNF alpha has cytolytic activity against a range of tumor cells and plays a key role in immune regulation. It exists as dimers, trimers, and a 26 kDa membrane-bound form.

• Functional Grade Purified MP6-XT3 antibody tested by LAL assay for low endotoxin level.
• Verified for neutralization of TNF alpha bioactivity.
• At 0.60 µg/mL, neutralizes by 50% the biological effects of 1.0 ng/mL mouse TNF alpha in TNF alpha-induced cytotoxicity assay of L929 cells.

Usage Recommendations:

• Titrate carefully for optimal performance in the assay of interest.
• Use in a sterile environment.

Target Information

TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune cells, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
It exists as multimers (dimers, trimers, or pentamers) and shows a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE.
Knockout studies in mice indicate neuroprotective functions and tumor necrosis induction in tumor-bearing mice.
TNF alpha participates in immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections and is associated with autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
