Product Specific Information

The RM4-5 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD4 molecule, a 55 kDa cell surface receptor expressed by thymocytes, mature T-cell subpopulations, and dendritic cells. CD4 binds MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells and plays an essential role in T-cell development and function.

Binding of RM4-5 is blocked by GK1.5.

• Applications Tested: Mouse thymocytes and splenocytes (≤ 0.25 µg/test, 100 µL final volume)
• Recommended to titrate for optimal performance

Alexa Fluor® 532 is excited with the green laser (532 nm) and emits at 561 nm.
Not compatible with yellow-green laser (561 nm).
Recommended filter: 560/14 band pass.

Target Information

CD4 antigen is involved in MHC class II recognition and functions as a co-receptor for HIV. It is primarily expressed in T-helper lymphocytes, and also in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.

Tissue expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of brain and gut. CD4 contributes to early T-cell activation and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases.

Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
