Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Human lipodystrophy is characterized by loss of body fat, fatty liver, hypertriglyceridemia, and insulin resistance. Mice with mutations in the fatty liver dystrophy gene show similar phenotypes. The responsible mouse gene, Lpin1, encodes the nuclear protein lipin, which is highly expressed in adipose tissue and induced during preadipocyte differentiation.
Human homologs include LPIN1, LPIN2, and LPIN3, mapped to chromosomes 2p25, 18p11, and 20q11-q12, respectively. Mouse genes Lpin1, Lpin2, and Lpin3 are located on chromosomes 12, 17, and 2.
