Target Information
C-Jun N-terminal Kinase (JNK), also known as Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK8), is part of the MAPK superfamily of stress-activated protein kinases. MAPKs are serine-threonine kinases activated by various extracellular stimuli and mediate signal transduction from the cell surface to the nucleus.
JNK regulates proliferation, differentiation, transcription, and development. It is activated by stress and inflammatory signals and expressed as ten different isoforms due to mRNA splicing, with JNK1 and JNK2 being predominant.
