Product Specific Information
This antibody detects recombinant mouse Carboxylesterase 3 (CES3) in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross-reactivity is observed with recombinant human CES1, CES2, and recombinant mouse CES2, CES5.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS before use.
Target Information
Carboxylesterase 3 (CES3) is a major lipase in white adipose tissue, involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics and natural substrates. It hydrolyzes triacylglycerols and monoacylglycerols, with preference for monoacylglycerols. The enzyme activity increases with shorter fatty acid chain lengths and also catalyzes the synthesis of fatty acid ethyl esters.
