Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, cross-reactivity is observed as follows:
- ~50% with recombinant canine IL-18
- ~30% with recombinant porcine IL-18
- ~20% with recombinant human and rat IL-18
- <10% with recombinant mouse and rhesus macaque IL-18
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level: <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody (LAL method).
Target Information
The IL-18 protein is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces IFN-gamma production in T cells. Combined with IL-12, it inhibits IL-4–dependent IgE and IgG1 production and enhances IgG2a production in B cells. IL-18 binding protein interacts specifically with IL-18, negatively regulating its biological activity.
