Target Information
PRDM2는 nuclear/histone methyltransferase superfamily에 속하는 단백질로, PR domain, Rb-binding motif, 8개의 Kruppel-like zinc finger motif, Nuclear hormone-receptor binding motif 및 C-terminal PR-domain binding motif를 포함합니다.
PRDM2는 낮은 수준으로 광범위하게 발현되며, PR-domain을 포함한 280 kDa RIZ1과 이를 결여한 250 kDa RIZ2의 두 가지 isoform이 존재합니다.
세포 성장과 분화에 중요한 역할을 하는 종양 억제 단백질로, Retinoblastoma protein, estrogen receptor, GATA-3, Heme-oxygenase-1 유전자의 TPA-responsive element(MTE)와 결합합니다.
이 단백질은 Retinoblastoma의 발병, 신경 분화 중 전사 조절, Heme-oxygenase-1 유전자의 전사 활성화 및 estrogen 작용의 특이적 효과에 관여하며, 많은 암에서 돌연변이 및 과메틸화로 인해 불활성화되거나 변형되어 잠재적 바이오마커로 연구되고 있습니다.
