Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration.
- For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-goat serum, purified and partially purified Glucoamylase [Rhizopus].
- Cross-reactivity against Glucoamylase from other sources is unknown.
Target Information
Rhizopus glucoamylase exists in multiple forms (Gluc 1, Gluc 2, Gluc 3). All hydrolyze gelatinized starch at similar rates, but only Gluc 1 adsorbs raw starch. It hydrolyzes terminal (1→4)-linked α-D-glucose residues successively from non-reducing ends, releasing β-D-glucose.
