Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can signal independently of BCR co-ligation. It plays a key role in regulating B cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation. Mutations in CD19 may lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression can cause B cell hyperactivity.
