Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody A1exF5 recognizes both human and mouse Arginase 1 (Arg1), a cytosolic enzyme.
Compatible with standard intracellular staining protocols and the Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set.

Target Information

Arginase-1 (Arg1) is a 35 kDa enzyme converting L-arginine to urea and L-ornithine, the final step in the urea cycle.
It regulates nitric oxide production by depriving NO synthase of its substrate.
Arginase 1 is expressed in:

• Liver, neutrophils, myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC), and neural stem cells (human and mouse)
• Blood neutrophils (human) but not CCR3+ granulocytes
• Alternatively activated macrophages (M2a) in mice
  It is also found in myeloid cells infiltrating tumors and in most hepatocellular carcinomas.
  Defects cause argininemia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyperammonemia.
