Target Information
This gene encodes a serine/threonine phosphatase belonging to the protein phosphatase catalytic subunit family. These proteins regulate pathways through reversible phosphorylation at serine and threonine residues, which are critical for cell growth and differentiation. PP5 participates in signaling pathways responding to hormones or cellular stress, and elevated levels may be associated with breast cancer development. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
