Target Information

FBXO4 encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid F-box motif. These proteins form part of the SCF (SKP1-cullin-F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
F-box proteins are classified into three types:

1. Fbws – containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls – containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs – containing various protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The FBXO4 protein belongs to the Fbxs class. Alternative splicing generates two transcript variants.
