Target Information
TAB2 is an activator of MAP3K7/TAK1, which is required for IL-1 induced activation of NF-kappaB and MAPK8/JNK. It forms a kinase complex with TRAF6, MAP3K7, and TAB1, acting as an adaptor linking MAP3K7 and TRAF6. TAB2, TAB1, and MAP3K7 also participate in TNFSF11/RANKL-induced signaling via TNFRSF11A/RANK, influencing osteoclast development and function. TAB2 and TAB3 interact with Beclin-1, regulating autophagy by dissociating from Beclin-1 upon induction and binding TAK1. Overexpression inhibits autophagy, while depletion triggers it, suggesting TAB2 and TAB3 act as control points for autophagy.
