Background
Cell-free circulating DNA (cfc-DNA) in plasma/serum provides biomarkers for cancers, autoimmune diseases, and fetal DNA in maternal blood. It is used for non-invasive diagnostics, genetic screening, and monitoring of disease progression. Typically, cfc-DNA fragments are shorter than 1000 bp.
