This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
This antibody has specificity for Human Urokinase/PLAU.

Target Information

The gene encodes a serine protease involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix and possibly tumor cell migration and proliferation. A specific polymorphism in this gene may be associated with late-onset Alzheimer’s disease and decreased affinity for fibrin-binding.
This protein converts plasminogen to plasmin by cleavage of an Arg-Val bond. Plasmin cleaves this protein at a Lys-Ile bond to form a two-chain derivative (HMW-uPA), connected by a disulfide bond between the A-chain and catalytically active B-chain. HMW-uPA can be further processed into LMW-uPA by cleavage of chain A. LMW-uPA is active but does not bind to the uPA receptor.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
