Target Information
EpoR encodes the erythropoietin receptor, a member of the cytokine receptor family. Binding of erythropoietin activates Jak2 tyrosine kinase, which triggers intracellular pathways such as Ras/MAP kinase, PI3K, and STAT transcription factors. Activated EpoR supports erythroid cell survival. Mutations in this gene are linked to erythroleukemia and familial erythrocytosis, and dysregulation may influence tumor growth. Multiple transcript variants arise from alternative splicing.
