EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor)는 다양한 성장 인자에 반응하여 신호를 전달하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제입니다. 과발현은 여러 유형의 암과 관련이 있으며, EGFR은 생물학적 및 저분자 치료제의 표적입니다. 인간의 7번 염색체에 위치한 EGFR 유전자가 이를 암호화하며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다. EGF(Epidermal Growth Factor)와 TGFα(Transforming Growth Factor α) 등의 리간드가 세포 외 도메인에 결합하면 EGFR 이량체화와 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기 자가 인산화가 일어납니다. 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 및 편평세포암 등에서 관찰됩니다.
