Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CYP2A6 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 enzyme superfamily. These monooxygenases catalyze reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by phenobarbital. It hydroxylates coumarin and metabolizes nicotine, aflatoxin B1, nitrosamines, and several pharmaceuticals.
Certain allelic variants are associated with poor metabolizer phenotypes, leading to inefficient metabolism of coumarin or nicotine.
CYP2A6 is part of a large cluster of cytochrome P450 genes (CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F subfamilies) on chromosome 19q. Formerly referred to as CYP2A3.
