Target Information
The Ras-related superfamily of guanine nucleotide-binding proteins includes the R-Ras, Rap, Ral/Rec, and Rho/Rab subfamilies. Rab proteins play a crucial role in endocytosis and biosynthetic protein transport, mediating the movement of carrier vesicles from the endoplasmic reticulum through the Golgi complex to secretory vesicles. Rab 33B and Rab 33A share conserved effector domains but only 55.3% overall amino acid identity, suggesting they may interact with similar effector and regulatory proteins.
