Catenin alpha-1은 다양한 cadherin의 세포질 도메인과 결합하여 cadherin-catenin-actin 복합체를 형성합니다. 이 복합체는 세포 부착 및 세포골격 연결에 중요한 역할을 하며, E- 및 N-cadherin 모두와 상호작용할 수 있습니다.
CTNNA1은 actin filament 조립을 조절하고 Arp2/3 complex와 경쟁하여 actin branching을 억제할 수 있습니다. 세포 분화 및 부착 관련 연구에 중요한 단백질입니다.
