Target Information
EPHB2 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of this family are involved in key biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and synapse formation and maturation.
Ephrins are divided into two classes based on their structure: ephrin-A (EFNA), which are membrane-anchored via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol linkage, and ephrin-B (EFNB), which are transmembrane proteins.
Eph receptors are grouped according to extracellular domain sequence similarity and ligand binding affinity. Ephrin receptors represent the largest subgroup of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). EphB4 binds to ephrin-B2 and is essential in vascular development.
