Target Information
The PURA gene encodes a sequence-specific, single-stranded DNA-binding protein that preferentially binds to purine-rich elements (PUR) found at replication origins and gene flanking regions across eukaryotic species. It plays roles in regulating DNA replication and transcription. Deletion of this gene is associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia.
