Target Information
The human ASH2L gene encodes a 628 amino acid protein known as ASH2L1 (isoform 1), which contains a nuclear localization signal and a PHD finger motif, suggesting a role as a transcription regulator.
Its predicted molecular weight is approximately 68.7 kDa, with alternative isoforms at 60 kDa and 56.5 kDa.
Human ASH2L proteins share ~60% homology with Drosophila ash2 and ~90% with mouse ASH2L, indicating evolutionary conservation.
ASH2L is predominantly expressed in adult heart and testis and in fetal lung and liver, with low expression in adult lung, liver, kidney, and leukocytes. It is also expressed in leukemia cell lines such as K562, Hel, and Dami, suggesting a potential role in hematopoiesis and leukemia-related processes.
Additionally, ASH2L has been reported to interact with beta-tubulin and beta-catenin.
