Target Information
HDAC2 (Histone Deacetylase 2) belongs to the histone deacetylase family. These enzymes form large multiprotein complexes responsible for deacetylating lysine residues on histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4). HDAC2 forms transcriptional repressor complexes with various proteins, such as YY1, a zinc-finger transcription factor, and plays key roles in transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and development. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants.
