This antibody detects endogenous levels of DRP1 only when phosphorylated at Ser529.
Target Information
Dynamin-related protein 1 (DRP1) is a human protein involved in mitochondrial division in mammalian cells. It regulates mitochondrial fission both at steady state and during apoptosis. DRP1 is essential for proper mitochondrial distribution within cells. In mutant neurons lacking functional DRP1, mitochondria are largely absent from synapses, providing a valuable model to study mitochondrial roles in synaptic function.
