hnRNP F는 핵 내 RNA 결합 단백질로, heterogeneous nuclear RNA와 복합체를 형성하여 pre-mRNA의 스플라이싱, 폴리아데닐화 및 기타 mRNA 대사와 수송 과정을 조절합니다. 일부 hnRNP는 핵과 세포질 사이를 이동하며, 다양한 핵산 결합 특성을 가집니다. hnRNP F 단백질은 guanosine-rich RNA 서열에 결합하는 quasi-RRM 도메인 3개를 포함하며, hnRPH와 유사한 특성을 가집니다. 여러 대체 스플라이싱 변이체가 존재하지만 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
