Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, we recommend adding 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
To use this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, perform another round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

This gene generates several transcript variants differing in their first exons. At least three alternatively spliced variants encode distinct proteins, two of which function as inhibitors of CDK4 kinase.
Another variant encodes an alternate reading frame (ARF) protein that stabilizes tumor suppressor p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2, an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase responsible for p53 degradation.
Despite structural differences, both CDK inhibitor isoforms and the ARF product share a role in cell cycle G1 control through CDK4 and p53 regulation.
This gene is frequently mutated or deleted in various tumors and is recognized as a key tumor suppressor gene.
