Product Specific Information
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Superior specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
Catenin alpha-1 associates with the cytoplasmic domain of various cadherins to form complexes linked to the actin filament network, crucial for cadherin-mediated cell adhesion. It can associate with both E- and N-cadherins. While initially thought to mediate linkage to the actin cytoskeleton, later studies suggest it does not bind F-actin directly in the complex, implying a different linkage mechanism. The homodimeric form may regulate actin filament assembly and inhibit actin branching by competing with the Arp2/3 complex. It plays an important role in cell differentiation.
