Target Information

CUL4B is a core component of multiple cullin-RING-based E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes, mediating ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation of target proteins. It acts as a scaffold protein, positioning substrates and ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes.
Involved in polyubiquitination of CDT1, histones H2A, H3, and H4 following radiation-induced DNA damage. Targeted to UV-damaged chromatin by DDB2, playing a role in DNA repair and replication.
Required for cyclin E ubiquitination and normal G1 cell cycle progression. Regulates the mTOR pathway controlling cell growth and metabolism, with CUL4B-dependent regulation of mTORC1 requiring 26S proteasome and MLST8 interaction.
