Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They combine the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency achievable only through recombinant production.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets while maintaining lot-to-lot reproducibility.
Formerly known as “Recombinant polyclonal antibody,” this product has been rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody.” Physical and performance characteristics remain unchanged.
Target Information
Caspase 8 (CASP8) is a cysteine-aspartic acid protease involved in apoptosis. It exists as an inactive proenzyme and becomes active through proteolytic processing.
Caspase 8 mediates programmed cell death induced by Fas and other apoptotic stimuli and interacts with Fas-interacting protein FADD via its death effector domain (DED).
It has been implicated in neurodegenerative diseases such as Huntington’s disease and activates downstream caspases including Caspase 9, committing cells to apoptosis.
Caspase 8 also reacts with Jurkat cells and tonsil tissues. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
