Target Information
SMAD2 (MADH2, MAD2)는 세포 증식, 세포사멸(apoptosis), 분화 등 다양한 세포 과정을 조절하는 단백질입니다.
SMAD2는 TGF-β 수용체와 상호작용하며, 신호전달 과정에서 핵으로 이동하여 전사 억제 복합체를 형성합니다.
ERK1에 의한 인산화는 SMAD2의 전사 활성화를 증가시키며, 칼모듈린에 의해 음성 조절됩니다.
TGF-β 신호에 반응하여 SMAD2는 인산화되고, SARA로부터 분리되어 SMAD4와 결합 후 핵으로 이동합니다.
이 복합체는 표적 프로모터에 결합하여 전사 조절에 관여합니다.
또한 SMAD2는 activin type 1 receptor kinase에 의해 인산화될 수 있으며, activin 신호 전달에도 관여합니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 전사 변이체도 보고되어 있습니다.
