Product Specific Information
The P67.6 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD33 (GP67, P67), a 67 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the Siglec family. CD33 is expressed on monocytes, activated T cells, granulocytes, myeloid progenitors, and mast cells.

Target Information
CD33 is a transmembrane protein belonging to the sialic acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin (Siglec) family. It contains ITIM motifs that recruit SHP-1 and SHP-2 phosphatases and mediate receptor internalization. CD33 is expressed on myelomonocytic lineage cells, granulocyte and macrophage precursors, and peripheral monocytes, but not on pluripotent stem cells.
It is a therapeutic target for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and serves as a marker to distinguish myelogenous leukemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.
Diseases associated with CD33 dysfunction include gallbladder lymphoma and extracutaneous mastocytoma.
