Antibody detects endogenous levels of BCL9L only when phosphorylated at Ser915.
Target Information
Bcl9L, a homolog of Bcl9, was initially identified through bioinformatics screening. It is expressed in fetal brain, adult lung, eye, and prostate, as well as in several tumor types including pancreatic and prostate cancers.
Bcl9L interacts with beta-catenin, a key component of the Wnt signaling pathway, and is required for enhanced beta-catenin–TCF-mediated transcription in colorectal tumor cells, possibly by facilitating beta-catenin nuclear translocation.
Studies indicate that Bcl9L expression correlates with high nuclear grade cancer phenotypes and ErbB2/HER-2 expression in breast cancers, suggesting its involvement in other cancer types.
Additionally, Bcl9L plays a critical role in Wnt-mediated regulation of stem cell traits in colon epithelium and adenocarcinomas, associated with tumor invasion, metastasis, and therapy resistance.
