PA3-115 detects PAC1 in human samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry procedures.
By Western blot, this antibody detects an approximately 40–60 kDa protein representing PAC1 in human samples.
In immunohistochemistry, PAC1 immunoreactivity is predominantly localized to the plasma membrane.
PA3-115 immunogen is a synthetic peptide, KLH conjugated, corresponding to residues L(506)–T(525) of the human VPAC2 receptor.
Target Information
This gene encodes type I adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide receptor (PACAP receptor), a membrane-associated protein sharing significant homology with members of the glucagon/secretin receptor family.
It mediates diverse biological actions of adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide 1 and is positively coupled to adenylate cyclase.
Alternative splicing of two exons generates four major splice variants.
PACAP receptor type 1 expression has been observed in adipose, adrenal, bone, brain, colon, ganglion, heart, lung, ovary, pancreas, placenta, spleen, and uterus.
ESTs have been isolated from brain and nerve libraries.
