Description:
The MECA-367 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse mucosal vascular addressin-1 (MAdCAM-1), a 50–60 kDa member of the Ig superfamily. This antigen is expressed in mucosal lymphoid tissue and lamina propria and acts as a counter-receptor for CD62L and CD49d. MAdCAM-1 plays an important role in homing of memory T cells to the gut lamina propria and in recirculation of naive lymphocytes in Peyer’s patches and mesenteric lymph nodes.

Applications Reported:
MECA-367 can be used for:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Immunohistochemical staining of frozen mouse tissue sections
• Blocking in adhesion assays
• Immunoprecipitation
• Immunoblotting (WB)

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells and splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration should be determined empirically for other applications.

Use in a sterile environment.

0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Purity:

90%, determined by SDS-PAGE.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is an endothelial cell adhesion molecule that interacts preferentially with leukocyte beta7 integrin LPAM-1 (α4β7), L-selectin, and VLA-4 (α4β1) on myeloid cells to direct leukocytes into mucosal and inflamed tissues. It belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is similar to ICAM1 and VCAM1. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
