Target Information

Interferon-inducible T-cell alpha chemoattractant (I-TAC), also known as CXCL11 or IP-9, belongs to the CXC chemokine family. It is expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas, liver, thymus, spleen, lung, small intestine, placenta, and prostate.
The protein has a molecular weight of 8–11 kDa and plays a role in calcium release regulation and chemotactic response induction in activated T-cells.
CXCL11 is the dominant ligand for CXC receptor-3 (CXCR3) and its gene contains four exons and multiple polyadenylation signals, suggesting cell-specific regulation.
IFN-γ is a potent inducer of CXCL11 transcription, and its expression is upregulated in patients with AIDS, dementia, and multiple sclerosis.
