Target Information
Interferon-inducible T-cell alpha chemoattractant (I-TAC), also known as CXCL11 or IP-9, belongs to the CXC chemokine family.
It is expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes, pancreas, liver, thymus, spleen, lung, small intestine, placenta, and prostate.
Molecular weight: 8–11 kDa.
CXCL11 regulates calcium release and induces chemotactic responses in activated T-cells, acting as the dominant ligand for CXC receptor-3.
The gene contains four exons and multiple polyadenylation signals, suggesting cell-specific regulation.
IFN-gamma strongly induces transcription of this gene, which is upregulated in patients with AIDS, dementia, and multiple sclerosis.
