Target Information
GRP94 is a 803 amino acid protein belonging to the heat shock protein 90 family. It functions as a molecular chaperone involved in the processing and transport of secreted proteins. GRP94 and its N-terminal fragment stimulate CTL expansion and maturation of human monocyte-derived dendritic cells (MDDC). It plays a central role in innate and acquired immunity, dendritic cell maturation and chemotaxis, antibody production, and cross-priming. GRP94 acts as a peptide acceptor in the endoplasmic reticulum and assists peptide loading of MHC class I molecules. Its expression is associated with melanoma, liver metastases of colon carcinoma, and human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cells.
