Target Information
The protein encoded by the CARD9 gene belongs to the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). This domain mediates protein interactions involved in activation or suppression of caspase family members, playing a regulatory role in apoptosis. CARD9 interacts with the CARD domain of BCL10, a positive regulator of apoptosis and NF-κB activation, functioning as a molecular scaffold for BCL10 signaling complex assembly. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, though their full-length forms are not clearly defined.
