• For blocking purposes, use a 5% (v/v) solution (1:20 dilution from rehydrated volume).
• Rehydration according to instructions yields 100% serum.
• Restore with 5.0 mL distilled water. Centrifuge if not clear after standing 1–2 hours at room temperature.
• Store at 4°C until opened. Undiluted liquid may be stored for several weeks at 4°C.
• After dilution, use within one day.
• To extend shelf life, freeze rehydrated undiluted product in small aliquots at -20°C.

Target Information

Normal sera are non-immune serum samples from various species (goat, human, mouse, rabbit, etc.) containing the usual complement of serum proteins, including immunoglobulins found in healthy animals.
They are used to:

• Saturate and block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples or assay substrates
• Provide a native chemical environment for antibodies when used as a diluent
• Serve as controls for antibody purification and immunodetection methods such as IHC
