Product Specific Information
This antibody strongly binds human and cynomolgus monkey PD-L1 and shows weak binding for mouse PD-L1. PD-L1 is highly expressed in many human tumors. PD-L1 exerts an immune suppressive signal through binding to PD-1 and B7.1, and tumor expression of PD-L1 can mediate cancer immune evasion. Blocking this pathway provides a rationale for cancer immunotherapy.
Target Information
Programmed death receptor ligand 1 (PD-L1, also called B7-H1) is a member of the B7 family. Its receptor, PD-1, negatively regulates T-cell receptor (TCR) signaling. Upon binding to PD-1, PD-L1 decreases TCR-mediated proliferation and cytokine production. PD-L1 expression is abundant in many murine and human cancers and can be up-regulated upon IFN-gamma stimulation, suggesting its role in tumor immune evasion.
