Target Information
SHP-1 (PTPN6) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed primarily in hematopoietic cells. It consists of two SH2 domains, a catalytic domain, and a regulatory domain. SHP-1 downregulates tyrosine kinase-regulated pathways by dephosphorylating target proteins. In hematopoietic cells, SHP-1 negatively regulates erythropoietin receptor signaling, while in epithelial cells, it downregulates Ros receptor-mediated proliferation. In myeloid cells, SHP-1 associates with IL-3R beta chain to reduce IL-3-induced phosphorylation and proliferation.
